WHAT’S YOUR STORY?

You write the songs. You play the rooms. You keep showing up.

MUSIC: The Artist Behind the Music is an independent online publication highlighting artists, songwriters, musicians, producers and the people building a life around music. If you've got a story worth telling, we'd like to hear it.

TELL US YOUR STORY

We want to hear about you, your music, and the story behind what you’re creating.

Take your time with the questions below. You’ll have up to 255 characters for each response, so give us the highlights and tell us what you think people should know.

And don’t worry about making it perfect. You don’t have to be a writer. That’s our job. We’ll take what you share with us and help shape it into a story that feels natural and represents you well.

We also love the stories that happen along the way. Tell us about the artists, songwriters, musicians, mentors, and friends you’ve met who have encouraged you, influenced you, or helped shape the artist you’ve become. We especially want to share positive stories about the people and moments that make a life in music worth remembering.

If your story is selected for a feature, we’ll contact you at the email address you provide with a link where you can submit photographs and any additional materials we may need.

A QUICK NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS

We love personal photos, including pictures of other artists who may be part of your story. If you took the photo yourself, you can submit it. For example, if you saw an artist in concert and snapped a photo from the audience, that’s a photo you took and can share with us.

What we don’t want are photos pulled from Google, social media, an artist’s website, a news article, or anywhere else online unless you have permission to use them.

If someone else took the photo for you, please make sure you have their permission before submitting it.

By submitting a photo, you’re confirming that it’s yours to share and giving us permission to use it as part of your story and its promotion.

Tell us where you’ve been, what you’re creating, who you’ve met along the way, and where you hope the road takes you next.

You bring the story. We’ll help you tell it.
